Add photos to a card

Photos are a great way to brighten up a card, bring back some good memories or share a special moment. And best of all, they're super easy to add!

1. Click the Upload Photo button next to 'Add Your Message'

2. Choose your photo to add:

   • Photo library: Select to choose a photo from your device, or drag and drop an image on desktop.
   • From your camera: On mobile or tablet, tap Take a photo to snap a picture on the spot.

   (Supports JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 15MB — we automatically optimise the file for you).

3. Fine-tune & caption (optional):

   • Use Rotate 90° if your photo needs orienting, or Replace to pick a different photo.
   • Add a caption to appear beneath your photo in a polaroid style.

4. Click Add to Card and your photo will be placed on to the current page of the card. Photos are placed with a slight angle to give them a natural feel.

Once you've added a photo:

• You can position it by dragging the Move icon. Photos can go anywhere except the border of the card, and they can't overlap the centre fold.
• You can resize your photo by dragging the Resize icon.
• Tap the edit icon to make any changes to your photo, Move it to another page, or Delete it.

Can I overlap photos?

Yes, of course. When you add or move a photo it jumps to the front of the photo stack, so you can achieve any ordering of photos by moving them in order from back to front.

Can I overlap text and photos?

Yes, that's fine. Messages are always displayed in front of any photos, but just be aware that some colours of text will not be legible on certain photos.

Note: While you have a photo selected, that photo will temporarily display in front of everything - you can click off the photo and it will return to its position in the stack.

I'm seeing 'Image file is too large'

The 15MB limit should be plenty for most standard photos, but for very large files you can use a tool on your computer to resize the image before uploading it. For example, you can use Photos on Windows or Preview on macOS.
